‘His & Hers’ Chocolate Facial Mask

confetti collective chocolate face mask

When was your last at home Spa Day?

I know for me, my life as a mom, wife, business owner and everything else has me SUPER busy and I just don’t have the time to go to a spa…so I carve out the time to pamper myself at home.

I’m all about getting more use out of the products that I spend my money on, and that includes beauty/spa stuff. With my oily/combination/sensitive skin it’s not often that I find a product that I can use on my and my husband’s skin.

Imagine my surprise when the product contains my favorite food group: chocolate.

Check out this video:

This chocolate facial mask recipe is ideal for most skin types, and it’s filled with antioxidants that rejuvenate the skin and will leave your face smooth, soft, and glowing.

Cacao powder is rich in flavanol antioxidants protects and frees the skin from free radicals, which cause significant damage to skin layers. Also helps with hydrating the skin and combat wrinkles.

Lavender has antibacterial properties and helps soothe dry, irritated skin.

Oatmeal contains saponins, a mild cleansing agent.  It is a gentle, yet effective exfoliant that removes dead skin without irritation. The anti-inflammatory properties  provide soothing relief from eczema, sunburn, poison ivy or other skin irritations.

Honey is a great antibacterial agent, helps soften the skin and adds a nice glow.

Big ups to Naturally Me and You, LLC for creating this mask blend exclusively for us! You can get yours for a super deal during our Holiday Slay Weekend sale.

To your (and his) “Beauty”,

Kiss Your Dry Skin Goodbye – Double Butter Whipped Creme Recipe

  • Ointment of the Gawds.
  • Skin frosting.
  • Luscious Leg Lotion.
  • Hand Helper.
  • Hair crack.

What are terms used to describe Mo’s whipped shea butter? LOL

My 10-yr old was born with eczema. For the first year of her life we tried everything on the store shelves for her skin. Fortunately her condition didn’t warrant medications like prednisone, but I was determined to find something to heal her skin.

On the day that her doctor told me to go buy Crisco, I knew it was real…..

I challenged myself to learn all that I could about natural oils, butters and ingredients that have healing properties and would be delicate enough to use on her body.  Over the years my recipe has changed a bit as I continue to learn, but t shea butter is where it all began. After tying several different vendors and brands I finally found the shea butter that I enjoy using –  the Radha Beauty 16 oz. Premium Unrefined Ivory Shea Butter.

In this video I share my current recipe for my “Double Butter Whipped Creme, its safe to use on the skin or in the hair. I included the ingredients list below the video so you can make your own (if that’s your thing…)

I hope you enjoy:

Ingredients List:

Unrefined shea butter (I use the Radha Beauty brand)
Avocado Oil (I use Beauty Aura brand)
Fractionated Coconut Oil  (I use the Dr. Adorable brand)
Aloe butter

Making my own products gives me an opportunity to do two things:

  • save money
  • know EXACTLY what I put in my hair and on my skin

I’ve also taught my daughter how to make this – when she gets older and has her own children I hope she’ll pass it down to them as well. <3

We’re creating legacy, remember?

Hectic Day Hacks to Get Yourself in Check

by Cassandra Tucker

Being a working woman and juggling all of life’s other responsibilities is not to be taken lightly. How is it even remotely possible to excel at your 9-5, spend time with friends and family, and find the motivation to exercise? It’s probably even taxing to read this article. Stress does the mind and body no good, so it’s time to replenish and renew your wellbeing.

You wouldn’t drive your car on no gas and worn down tires would you? Not unless you were asking for a breakdown. It’s time to give your mind, body, and soul some extra loving to get through your most hectic days, and it won’t take you much money or effort (phew). Utilize these hacks to make the most of everyday while taking care of yourself too!

The early bird catches the worm – and I’ve found it to be more than true! Waking up early sets the entire tone for the day. It doesn’t matter if you have to force yourself out of a bed with a hot cup of coffee or the sizzling of bacon – treat yourself!

Even if you had to literally roll out of bed you still deserve a win. Rising before the sun frees up some time for you to start your day peacefully. No need to rush and trigger anxiety before your workday even begins.  Before you leave your bed meditate for a few moments or simply stretch. Even a few tiny moments of meditation can clear your mind, and your day will be brighter already. Enjoy your breakfast sitting at home instead of while driving to work.

Waking up early not your cup of tea? You still deserve to treat yourself every single day. Even if your day is crammed with work and a million other responsibilities, find the time to give yourself a pat on the back. Grab a gourmet coffee after work on your way to the grocery store as a little pick-me-up or reward for getting through the 8-hour workday.

Squeeze in a quick yoga session at home before you hit the sheets – there are a ton of awesome yoga routines on YouTube just for getting a good night’s sleep! No matter how crazy your most hectic days become the key is to always care for your wellness. It doesn’t take a massive bank account or (thankfully) more than a few moments, but it will make a world of difference.

Whether it be waking up early and easing into your day, expensive coffee that soothes your soul, or some quick yoga poses before sleep, put your mental, physical, and spiritual wellness on top of your list of priorities.

You won’t regret it 🙂
