In case we haven't said this to you already, Happy…

This time of year is a time for reflection. 2016 definitely had its ups and downs – unexpected celebrity deaths, a tumultuous Presidential race, some innovation and worldly success – but what every person has in common entering the new year is the desire to achieve some sort of positive change or personal goal.
New Year’s resolutions seem to get a bad rap, a good example of this is the cliché of the gym being overcrowded the first few weeks of January and becoming a ghost town by March. You don’t have to give up on your dreams once the sparkle of the New Year fades – creating a vision board to bring your goals to life brings you one step closer to achievement and personal growth. Are you creating a 2017 #visionboard? Luckily, this Christmas my artistically-talented sister decided to make me (from scratch!) a beautiful, ornate chalk board. Since my focus is always on overall wellness my first thought was to make a New Year’s vision board. What better way to start fresh and get stuff done?
Seeing is believing. Personally, I am a visual learner. Throughout all of my years of education I was really good at taking notes, making flashcards, and studying for tests. Setting small and larger, long-term goals on my vision board allow me to envision my plans and create the steps to take action. My main goals are wellness and career related. I even have a few financial hurdles I want to fly over. I have it split into three categories: I aim to be well, successful, and free. The bullet points are the roads I must travel to get there, such as drinking more water or boosting my savings as much as I can (pardon my handwriting!). My vision board is a great tool in implementing strategies and solutions to success.
Setting your intentions for the year ahead is half of the battle. If you take the time to write down and really ponder what you wish to accomplish, that sets the wheels in motion for positive change. Holding yourself accountable and making a plan you can easily follow using a vision board is a great place to start, and if you’re in the southern AZ area, you’re invited to attend our 2017 Vision Board Brunch on January 28!
