Glycerin is a popular ingredient in both hair and skin…
Most people know that coconut oil is an EXCELLENT moisturizer, it has properties that allow it to penetrate the skin and hair strands. It also contains the antioxidant vitamin E, which is known for its protective properties in helping the body stop damage to other healthy fats and tissues. This oil can also be used as a foundation for products that we use daily, which offers a double dip opportunity 😉
Makeup Remover – warm a glob (that’s a technical term) of coconut oil between the hands and rub all over face, including the eye area(make sure you get it all off or face blurry eyes later). Use a cotton pad or warm washcloth to remove makeup.
Deodorant – mix 1/3 cup of coconut oil, 1/4 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup of cornstarch and your essential oil of choice (can’t go wrong with lavender). Allow to solidify, and voila!
Toothpaste – mix 1 part coconut oil with 1 part baking soda (add peppermint oil if you wish). Brush
Shaving Oil – known for its slip, coconut oil is a great alternative to shaving cream, with extra moisturizing benefits
Skin Moisturizer – this really goes without saying…massage coconut oil on damp skin for penetrating moisture
With so many uses, coconut oil is probably the most valuable product in your house. Are you using coconut oil in other ways? Share your comments below!
