Glycerin is a popular ingredient in both hair and skin…
We believe in pampering ourselves (what girl doesn’t??), but going to the spa every week simply isn’t in the budget so we’re digging out one of the BEST beauty treatments that you can create at home.
Let’s go to the land of milk and honey.
What can milk and honey do for your skin?
For starters, both contain antimicrobial properties, which make them great cleansers sf acne fighters.
The lactic acid in milk is an alpha-hydroxy acid that naturally eats away dead skin cells. The gentle exfoliation works wonders for hyperpigmentation and skin blemishes.
Honey helps open the pores, helping clear away dirt and its rich in antioxidants that fight free radicals that attack the skin and cause premature aging. Because honey is antibacterial, it is very effective in the prevention and treatment of acne. Honey is a humectant, actually drawing moisture to the skin, which makes it an awesome product for both dry skin (for obvious reasons), but oily skin can also see less oil production as a result of the added moisture.
For best results, mix wild or medical-grade honey with whole milk or milk powder with just enough water to make a thin paste. Apply to your face with a cotton ball/pad or facial brush and allow to sit for up to 30 minutes. Rinse with warm water and follow with your regular skin care routine.
If you want glowing skin, milk and honey are a great combination to use for all skin types.
