A spa facial can be just what we need after an especially hectic month…week…day. For those of us that can’t make it to our favorite esthetician every time the mood strikes, you can pamper yourself DIY-style with these fridge to face recipes:
Strawberry milk mask (softening and exfoliation) – mix 1/2 cup fresh strawberries with 1tsp milk into a paste and smooth all over face and neck after cleansing. Allow to dry for 20 minutes and rinse with warm water.
Tomato yogurt mask (acne fighting and oil reducer) – smash the pulp of 1/2 -1 ripe tomato & mix with 1 tsp plain yogurt and apply to clean face with fingers or face brush. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse with warm water.
Raspberry honey mask (moisturizing and anti-aging) – mix 7-10 raspberries with 1/2 tsp of raw honey in a blender. Apply to freshly washed face and leave on for up to 10 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
Whether you apply your mask in the morning or before bed, don’t skip your moisturizer afterwards. There’s no point in taking the time to make your own natural beauty treatments if you’re going to miss the opportunity to hydrate your skin.
If you mix your masks in advance, keep in mind you can safely store each mixture for up to two days in the fridge. After that, if you haven’t used your concoction, toss it. No beauty DIY is worth you getting sick.
