Mo’s DIY Produce Wash

Produce Wash cover

If you follow us on Instagram, you’ve seen random images of produce prep and morning juice blends. I’ve been a #juicehead since 2011, and my trusty Jack Lalanne Classic power juicer is still hanging in there, so I won’t be buying any of the XL, souped-up  juicers as long as this one is still alive and kicking.

Typically I juice for breakfast about 4 days a week, and I’ve recently challenged myself to juice for two meals a day (snacking is still on the table, I’m not a monk…).

Anyhoo, I have been buying double the amount of produce as usual to make my juices, so I’ve decided to make my own produce wash instead of buying it.

Here’s what I mixed up:

1/2 cup distilled white vinegar

1 tbsp. baking soda

3/4 tsp organic lemon juice (you could also use the juice from half a lemon)

Pour everything into a clean spray bottle, shake and spray onto your fruits and veggies. Let sit for about 5 minutes before rinsing. I like to massage and rub the wash all over my produce, then give them a quick “bath” before rinsing . I also store my wash in the fridge.

So, if you’re ramping up your produce intake to boost your level of health, you can save yourself a few bucks making this wash.

Now, to find a fruit that tastes like chocolate………………………………………

Are you a #juicehead? I’m always experimenting with new concoctions, what are your faves?
