Ballerinas, princesses, and these days every little girl is wearing one. What about you?
Fear not, we’re going to show you how you can rock your tutu (AKA tulle skirt) in real life, and the only performance will be you strutting down your imaginary runway.
We found these tutus at Bati’Mamselle Boutique, the newest addition to the Natisse Apparel collection, and they come in three colors currently: silver, ivory and baby pink (not shown).
We paired the pink tutu with another item from the Natisse Apparel collection, this Josephine Baker tank top. Ms. Baker was SO far ahead of her time in fashion and practically everything else, it was a must that she accompany the tutu…
Two effortless looks later…….
This look could work for dinner with the girls (channeling your inner Carrie Bradshaw) at a funky, non-tourist-y, chic restaurant. Big hair is optional 🙂
Add a blazer and you’ve got a look that could work for your office holiday party (swap out a pair of sparkly strappy shoes) or even a fashion show, who knows….
Sure, there are tutus out there that scream “costume”, but in the right tones, paired with the right pieces they can be very fashion forward. The key is to achieve balance (fitted top, no kaleidoscope colors, preferably no flats)with the entire look and allow the tutu to be the focus.
The tutu doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon, and we predict that we’ll see them all over the place this summer. If we see you rocking your, don’t be surprised when we ask to take your picture 😉
Do you have a tutu hanging in the back of your closet? How are you going to rock it?? Let us know!
