“Should I use a steamer or do deep conditioning on my hair?”
This question gets asked a lot in the natural hair community..
A previous blog post, “Deep Conditioning vs. Steam Conditioning: What’s the Difference?” breaks down the differences and benefits of steaming and deep conditioning natural hair. Regardless of which option you choose, your hair DOES need to have those longer, deeper pampering sessions at least monthly if you want it to be in the healthiest state it can be.
It’s important to know that steam conditioning IS a form of deep conditioning, using your hair steamer is a good idea because gives you another method of boosting your deep treatment session, AND you can use it without any conditioner and still get great moisturizing results for your hair.
Are you curious about how a hair steamer works? Check out this video snippet of a Periscope broadcast where Mo steamed her hair live using the Huetiful hair steamer! Mo loves the Huetiful steamer because it has an ozone feature that neutralizes bacteria on the scalp, which fights against dandruff and itchy scalp.
If you’re planning to attend the 2nd Annual Southern AZ International Natural Hair Meetup Day event, you’ll have an opportunity to take advantage of our “Steam Station”, complete with two of Mo’s signature oil blends to lock in the moisture!!
